1. Long Beach (Phu Quoc Island)
Long Beach (Bai Trong) is a 20-km-long coastal area on Phu Quoc Island, where you can find swanky beachfront resorts, beachfront restaurants, cafés and bars with breathtaking sunset views. Despite hosting an array of tourist facilities, the beach is still relatively pristine with plenty of palm trees and soft sands, making it an ideal spot for sunbathing and swimming. Although Long Beach is easily navigated on foot, we highly recommend renting a motorbike or bicycle to explore traditional fishing villages and pearl farms located on the southern end of the beach.
2. Mui Ne Beach (Binh Thuan Province)
Mui Ne Beach spans 15 km of sandy beaches and rock-free waters, with luxurious beachfront resorts concentrated at the northern end and a traditional fishing village in the south. Located in the Binh Thuan province, the beach attracts throngs of visitors looking for somewhere to swim and enjoy some water sports, but the most popular activity in Mui Ne Beach is kitesurfing. The best time to enjoy this is between November and March, when the skies are sunny with strong winds
3. Quy Nhon Beach (Binh Dinh Province)
Quy Nhon is a relatively tourist-free seaport town in the Binh Dinh province, attracting mostly locals and seasoned travellers looking to enjoy their holiday away from bustling crowds. Nestled in a secluded bay, the beach is surrounded by verdant mountains while its pristine waters and soft sands are perfect for sunbathing and swimming. There are also plenty of sightseeing opportunities when you’re visiting Quy Nhon, including Fisherman's Port, Thap Doi Towers and Bai Xep Village. To get there, there are regional flights departing from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc and Con Dao Islands
4. My Khe Beach (Da Nang)
My Khe Beach, located 6 km east of Da Nang, offers visitors a 32-km-long stretch of white sands and a wide range of recreational activities. Named by the American troops who frequented this beach during the Vietnam War, it’s widely regarded as one of Vietnam's most picturesque beaches. My Khe Beach is a popular spot for sunbathing, fishing, snorkelling, jet-skiing and surfing, while seafood restaurants and beachfront resorts offer authentic regional cuisine at various price points. After exploring My Khe Beach, you can easily visit UNESCO-listed sites by bus, such as Hoi An Ancient Town, Hue Imperial City and Phing Nga Caves
5. An Bang Beach (Hoi An)
An Bang Beach may be one of the few stretches of beach in Hoi An that’s relatively unspoiled by development, but there’s still an array of beachfront resorts, seafood restaurants and hippie bars along the coastline. Aside from relaxing on the beach while enjoying views of neighbouring mountains and islets, there are plenty of surf and stand-up paddleboard classes available for inexperienced visitors. Accessible within a 10-minute drive from Hoi An Ancient Town, An Bang Beach is busiest during the surfing season, which takes place between September and March.
6. Cat Ba Island (Ha Long Bay)
Cat Ba Island is one of the many islets within the UNESCO-listed Ha Long Bay, with almost every tour company offering a boat trip to the island. While it’s full of the usual tourist scenario (such as hotels, restaurants, and bars), you can still find several sandy beaches along the east coast of the Cat Ba Town. The beaches of Cat Co One and Cat Co Three are linked by a cliff-facing pathway that’s great for daytime strolls, while Cat Co Two Beach offers plenty of bungalows and chalets that are perfect for romantic getaways.
7. Hon Chong Beach (Nha Trang)
Hon Chong Beach in Nha Trang is a five-minute drive from the iconic Po Nagar Cham Towers, where you can relax in a quiet setting. There’s also a rock formation that stretches out towards the sea, which requires a fee of VND 25,000 if you wish to climb it. It’s well worth the money and effort as you’ll be greeted with panoramic views of the crescent-shaped Nha Trang Beach and surrounding islets. Several cafés and seafood eateries line the beach, while 300m south of Hon Chong is Hon Do (Red Island), which has a Buddhist temple on a hilltop.
8. Non Nuoc Beach (Da Nang)
A 20-minute drive from Da Nang City, Non Nuoc Beach boasts international acclaim as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Featuring soft white sands, a gentle slope, unpolluted waters and gentle waves, visitors can enjoy plenty of leisure activities, such as sunbathing, jet-skiing and surfing, while enjoying local seafood dishes. Non Nuoc Beach takes up 5 km of Hoa Hai Ward’s coastline, ending at the foot of Marble Mountains, which hosts ancient pagodas, sacred caves and handicraft villages
9. Ninh Chu Beach (Ninh Thuan Province)
Ninh Chu Beach, located 6 km north of Phan Rang, is a crescent-shaped coastal area within Ninh Thuan province that spans 10 km in length. Unlike the neighbouring Phan Rang Beach, it offers locals and savvy travellers a quiet getaway during the weekdays, where they can enjoy a day of swimming, sunbathing and beach volleyball. Ninh Chu Beach is also home to natural attractions such as Nai Pond, as well as Du and Da Chong Mountains.
10. Tran Phu Beach (Nha Trang)
Tran Phu Beach has a touristy seaside promenade close to the city centre, where travellers can find a wide range of accommodation options, souvenir shops, museums and seafood restaurants. It also boasts a vibrant nightlife scene as well as activities such as surfing, snorkelling, bicycle tours, spa treatments, meditation and yoga. If you’re planning to unwind during your holiday in Nha Trang, beach beds and deck chairs can be rented for about VND 35,000 per day.
